We use the stability ball to gain a deeper understanding of the Pilates work, as you progress with your Pilates training you will see the many ways that the ball will challenge you. At the heart of Pilates is strengthening your core muscles, which include the muscles in the abdominal region and the back that are used extensively in your everyday routine. When using a fitness ball, you must continually work to maintain your balance on them, which requires using your core muscles.
When you use the unstable surface of the fitness ball, you will need to maintain your balance while performing your Pilates exercises. Exercises such as The Plank can be enhanced by using a fitness ball. We have found the reason that many people fail to continue with an exercise routine is because they become bored with the repetitive nature of routines. You can add a twist to your Pilates exercises, as well as increasing their difficulty, by performing them with a fitness ball.
In our ball classes you will find that you're working your core muscles in a way that you never expected, and another great discovery is that you'll be having fun and a great workout!
